WORLDSYNC, INC. TAKES SYNCDEK DATA REPLICATION DEMOS TO FILEMAKER DEVELOPER CONFERENCE
-- SyncDeK's Data Replication Technology Helps FileMaker Developers Extend Workgroups to Include Mobile Laptop Users, Remote Servers and Distributed Data Sharing Communities --
PHOENIX, Ariz., August 30, 2004 - FileMaker Developer Conference Booth #29 - WorldSync, Inc. today began conducting live, hands-on demonstrations of its new SyncDeK(R) Engines and SyncDeK Developer Kit, providing developers an interactive experience with synchronizing FileMaker(R) databases.
Available on Mac OS X and Windows, the SyncDeK Engines power bi-directional asynchronous data replication for data in FileMaker databases that are either persistently connected to the Internet or used offline. SyncDeK Developer Kit simplifies the incorporation of SyncDeK technology into solutions. Previously available only on Mac OS X, WorldSync will be showing the SyncDeK Developer Kit on Windows for the first time in their booth (see related release).
"SyncDeK brings the distributed data revolution to any business, enterprise workgroup or collaborative community," explained Jason Erickson, founder and CEO of WorldSync, Inc. "SyncDeK is data replication 'for the rest of us.' While FileMaker solutions take passive data and make it active, SyncDeK moves data to where you can use it, any time, anywhere. We're pleased to introduce the FileMaker developer community to our standalone data replication solution and corresponding development environment."
Along with the hands-on interactive demonstrations and consultations being held in Booth #29, WorldSync will also be presenting two sessions at the conference:
The first session is being held on Tuesday, August 31 at 1pm PDT, on "Data Replication with SyncDeK 5 - Enabling Mobility, Security and Community." In this session developers can learn how SyncDeK 5 extends workgroups to mobile laptop users, remote clients, multiple offices, web-hosted databases and distributed collaborative communities. The session will include examples and case studies for FileMaker Pro and Server in versions 6 and 7.
The second session is being held on Wednesday, September 1 at 1pm PDT, on "Sync-enabling FileMaker with SyncDeK 5 Developer." In this session developers can learn how to use SyncDeK 5 Developer to turn a single-instance version of a FileMaker Pro database into a powerful distributed system. Example solutions will be enabled for synchronization across the Internet. Each of the steps involved with preparing the solution for deployment will be illustrated.
SyncDeK 5.0 is a powerful application and plug-in combination that together provides the synchronization of specified fields between distributed FileMaker databases based on configurable rules, using commonly available Internet protocols. Designed for use by remote sites and mobile workers, often working offline, SyncDeK combines the power of Java-based background services with the flexibility of standard Internet communication protocols to synchronize XML data. Highly configurable and scalable, replication applies to individual data fields or entire FileMaker database files across client/client, client/server or server/server solutions. Conflict resolution is performed according to configurable business rules. SyncDeK is configured, tested, deployed and maintained using SyncDeK Developer Kit.
