BERKELEY, Calif., June 14, 2005 - WorldSync, Inc. today released SyncDeK(r) 5.1 for FileMaker Pro, adding several new features to their award-winning distributed data integration software. Typical uses for SyncDeK include supporting workgroups with multiple offices, mobile laptop users, heterogeneous systems and other complex data sharing requirements.

SyncDeK's intelligent bi-directional data replication technology automatically tracks changes and synchronizes specified fields between distributed databases, including FileMaker Pro 6 and/or 7. SyncDeK uses standards including Java, XML and JDBC for flexible data integration and communication across the Internet.

SyncDeK Engine 5.1 - a Java-based background application for data integration and replication.

High-performance Caching - SyncDeK's internal cache, used to ensure data integrity between nodes, has been overhauled to reduce storage space by approximately 85%.

Continuous synchronization - Synchronization for all database tables can be controlled from within FileMaker Pro, triggered through a single script, and now continuously performed at specific intervals, without requiring any additional scripting or external plug-ins.

New Communication options - SyncDeK 5.1 adds support for new messaging, authentication, encryption and compression options for communicating synchronization data across WAN, LAN or Internet. This enables secure and efficient transfer of data between distributed users and servers.

SyncDeK Plug-in for FileMaker Pro 5.1 - a plug-in for FileMaker Pro data integration.

Global Unique ID generator - This function generates unique values for use as Record IDs across multiple, distributed copies of a database. SyncDeK 5.1 also adds support for "GetSerial" function for obtaining globally unique serial number values from a central, online database.

International Versions - SyncDeK 5.1 offers flexible mapping of date, time, and timestamp formats for FileMaker Pro in order to support correct synchronization across multiple time zones and language formats.

File management Plug-in functions - New options for writing, reading and moving file data outside of FileMaker Pro, including methods to manage distribution of Container field data, and distribution of database version updates.

Logging, Fault tolerance - Added support for plug-in driven log entries, control over logging levels, and new plug-in function: "Sync:Errors".

More than 25 new auxiliary plug-in functions - to provide developers with a robust tool chest for building and maintaining distributed database solutions.

SyncDeK Developer 5.1 - a wizard-driven tool for mapping, integrating and distributing FileMaker databases to synchronized communities of users and servers.

Expanded Developer documentation - SyncDeK 5.1's documentation includes expanded coverage of preparing a FileMaker Pro database for distribution to mobile users, across multiple servers or groups of users and/or servers.

New Online Resources - Includes links to new QuickTime movies showing installation procedures, and WorldSync's Online Resources web site now featuring more than 50 articles and tech notes.

Version Update Manager - More efficiently automates the process of delivering version updates (new database structure) to distributed FileMaker Pro users, as well as updates to SyncDeK itself.

Compatibility, Pricing and Availability

SyncDeK 5.1 licensing options include the SyncDeK Single-user Engine, for deploying to standalone FileMaker Pro users, and the SyncDeK Network Engine, for synchronizing FileMaker Server data sources. The SyncDeK Developer application provides a tool for developers to configure database tables and administer a synchronized community of users and/or servers. SyncDeK 5.1 Single-user Engine and Network Engine licenses, and SyncDeK Developer 5.1 are available for purchase today.

SyncDeK 5.1 is compatible with Mac OS X, Windows XP and 2000, and with FileMaker Pro 6, FileMaker Pro 7, FileMaker Server 6 and FileMaker Server 7, and FileMaker 7 Server Advanced.
